Warriors Jimmy Butler Suffered Season-Ending Torn Right ACL
Batman is going to have to be without Robin. Golden State has certainly had its struggles this season and now the franchise will have to navigate yet another one. Monday evening, the Warriors Jimmy Butler suffered a season-ending torn right ACL.
Butler was helped to the locker room in the 3rd quarter of Monday’s matchup between the Heat-Warriors. The injury was sustained during the 3rd quarter with 7:41 left. Jimmy went for a rebound versus Davion Mitchell and landed in an unnatural position (knee buckling underneath him), causing the tear.
Broadcaster Marc Grandi described the situation in detail stating, “Jimmy Butler could hardly put any weight on his right leg after an awkward fall. Buddy Hield and Gary Payton II (and then Jonathan Kuminga once they got to the bench) helped Butler off the court and to the locker room. Joe Lacob just left his courtside seat and walked down the tunnel toward the Warriors locker room. Presumably Jimmy Butler related. The Warriors say Jimmy Butler will not return to tonight’s game with a knee injury.”
Butler was immediately examined by medical personnel. In time the worst was indeed confirmed. NBA insider Shams Charania reported, “Breaking: Golden State Warriors star Jimmy Butler has suffered a season-ending torn right ACL, sources tell ESPN.”

After the game, 2026 NBA All-Star Steph Curry was questioned regarding Jimmy’s injury as well as the impact Butler has had since becoming a member of the Warriors. Curry mentioned,
“He was still cracking jokes over there while he was on the ground in true Jimmy fashion…He was trying to get to the free throw line. He said it was two shots.
He’s ol’ reliable. I think he makes his presence felt in pretty much every game. And the idea of what he does for us is he just meets whatever moment it is, whether he needs to score, whether he gets everybody organized defensively, what he does, all his playmaking. Since the trade deadline last year, and the way we ended last year and this season, he’s done exactly what he’s supposed to do.”
Jimmy will definitely be missed by Golden State as the season presses on towards the playoffs. With a win over the Miami Heat, the Warriors improve to 25-19 on the season and will next face the Toronto Raptors. But how will GSW proceed?
Could Kuminga make an appearance? Pat Spencer, LJ Cryer or Malevy Leons? Will the organization finally make a trade? How the team plans to move forward, only time shall tell. However, there are options, but they will have to move fast to stay near the rest of the pack.
