Veteran QB Joe Flacco is Signing One-Year Deal With the Bengals
Welcome to season 19 of Joe Flacco! Yes, he is coming back after helming two Ohio franchises and helping Cincinnati stay afloat last season until their starting quarterback was able to return from injury. Nonetheless, Tuesday evening it was confirmed that veteran QB Joe Flacco is signing a one-year deal with the Bengals, per his agent.
Flacco was certainly an entertaining highlight of the 2025-2026 NFL season. The 41-year-old comes off a Pro Bowl season in both Cleveland and Cincinnati — where he was traded. And now he’s been snatched up out of free agency by the Bengals; and he will now backup Joe Burrow.
Having someone who is comfortable filling in and has done it successfully for the organization is a real asset for Cincinnati. Especially, since unfortunately their star quarterback has dealt with numerous injuries. In Week 3 (2025) against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Burrow suffered a serious turf toe and ligament injury that required surgery. Over the past three seasons, the former No. 1 overall pick has missed a total of 16 games, including nine during the 2025 campaign.

However, now Cincinnati has Flacco returning; so that if Burrow isn’t able to remain healthy (hopefully he will); the franchise will be able to keep moving through the season without missing a step. Furthermore, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported on Joe’s contract after receiving intel from JL Sports. JL Sports is a full-service sports agency with over 25 years of experience representing top NFL talent and coaches. Nevertheless, Fowler reveals,
“Joe Flacco has reached an agreement with the Cincinnati Bengals on a one-year deal, his agents at JL Sports tell ESPN.
Flacco had interest from the Las Vegas Raiders, among others. But he liked the setup in Cincinnati coming off last season.
Comp update: Flacco is getting a $6M deal with a max value of $9M with incentives, per source.”
Interestingly, Bengals QB Joe Flacco had left a signed jersey at Ja’Marr Chase’s locker and wrote a message saying that he is the greatest wide receiver ever. Flacco says he was honored to play with Chase. However, now that he is returning back to Cincy, the pair shall reunite. Don’t you just love sports.
