Vegas Golden Knights Defeat Minnesota Wild Taking a 3-2 Series Lead
It was another wild one in the fortress! An all out war on ice that extended past regulation. But in the end the Vegas Golden Knights defeat the Minnesota Wild taking a 3-2 series lead.
VGK seems to be firing on all cylinders. Especially, as they now take an advantage in this action-packed series. Vegas coach, Bruce Cassidy, mentioned after the game 5 victory, “We know how to win, I mean we’ve proved that… they understand there’s highs and lows in this, and things can change in a hurry.”
Defenseman Shea Theodore echoed the sentiments of his coach adding, “We’re confident. We like our group… and we know when we play the way that we want to that we should be on the right side of things. Coming into overtime, we want to stay on our toes and stay on the attack.”
Speaking overtime, obviously this game was not exactly an easy one for Vegas. While they got off to a hot start. In time the Minnesota Wild tied things up. Intensifying the pressure and the battle causing the matchup to go into overtime.
However, the Golden Knights’ Brett Howden would don a cape and be the hero of the game. Hitting an overtime goal and getting the big win “for the realm.” Not only winning the game 3-2; but also giving VGK a 3-2 series lead. Thus, moving and inching his team within one game of advancing.
After the game, VGK players discussed the impact Howden has had not only in game 5 but really all season. Forward William Karlsson states, “[Brett Howden] is a warrior. He’s had a really good year, and I’m happy that he got to score, and it’s a huge goal. He’s scored a lot of huge goals for us this year. I’m happy for him, he’s a good dude and a great hockey player.”

Therefore, tune into game 6 for all the action. Will Vegas pull it off? Or will the Wild fight back and play spoiler? We can’t wait for Thursday!
