A member of the Dolphins was stopped and confronted on his way to work. And the organization is NOT happy about the situation, in how it was handled. What happened? Tyreek Hill was detained by police before his week one start against the Jaguars.

Fortunately, for Hill several of his teammates were around. They witnessed the entire ordeal go down. And even offered their help to assist in squashing the incident.

Furthermore, it was also recorded. This video immediately went viral. And was passed along through fandoms faster than a crack of lightning. The recording shows Tyreek face down on the ground, not resisting arrest, outside of his vehicle. Officers place Hill in handcuffs.

Moments later, the Miami Dolphins organization put out a statement about the detainment of Hill. The franchise states,

“This morning, WR Tyreek Hill was pulled over for a traffic incident about one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police. He has since been released. Several teammates saw the incident and stopped to offer support. Tyreek and all other players involved have safely arrived to the stadium and will be available for today’s game.”

Fortunately, no one was hurt or harmed during Sunday’s events. Apparently, Hill was taken to the ground by police outside Hard Rock Stadium and handcuffed for five minutes before being released from custody. Tyreek’s agent feels that the police officers’ actions were a bit much. Regarding the incident involving his client, Tyreek Hill, Drew Rosenhaus says,

“‘To see my client in my handcuffs, some of the video that we’re seeing is unnecessary,’ Rosenhaus told NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe on NFL GameDay Morning. ‘There’s no reason that Tyreek should’ve been treated that way.’”

Nevertheless, what does the Miami Dade Police Department have to say about this situation? Director Stephanie V. Daniels said in a statement:

“We are aware of the recent detainment of Miami Dolphins player Tyreek Hill by Miami-Dade Police Department officers. I have requested an immediate review of all details surrounding the incident, and we are also reviewing available body camera footage. We will provide updates as further information becomes available.”

Hill was no doubt upset by this experience. But, is doing his best to refocus for the game against Jacksonville. We are sure his teammates and the Dolphins will be there for him and offer their support. With today’s season opener with the Jags; the 30-year-old enters his ninth season in the league.
