Travis Kelce Mother Donna Discusses His Acting Role in Grotesquerie
She has plenty to be proud of when it comes to her children. Two majorly talented sons who worked hard to get to the NFL. And not only got there, but both won Super Bowl championships. Furthermore, even off the field they have been extremely successful with commercials, a hit podcast, SNL stints and have made a move into sports commentating. But now, the mom of the Kelce men gets to watch one her sons embark on yet another off field journey, doing more acting. This week, Travis Kelce’s mother Donna discussed his acting role in the new thriller series Grotesquerie.
Grotesquerie, a word denoting something that is quite bizarre or departs from what is considered natural. Is the title of a new show on FX. The overall plot follows a series of heinous crimes that have unsettled a small community. And a detective (played by actress Niecy Nash) is determined to get to bottom of these acts by following any scrap of clues or evidence.
Interestingly though, Donna Kelce is basically finding out about this role at the same time as the rest of us. She tells Parade Mag that Travis kept a tight lid on his Hollywood dealings, but she is still proud he can chase his dreams. Donna reveals,
“You know I think I found out when everyone else did. He was tight lipped about this one! I think that was by choice.
This is something that’s unfamiliar to him. Something that I know he’s always wanted to do, I think. So… I think he just wants everyone to see it at the same time. And we’ll see how it goes.”

Speaking of chasing his dreams. Donna has been busy in the media circuit. Due to this she was able to elaborate on Travis Kelce’s ambitious nature and even gave her son some helpful advice. Donna tells Variety,
“‘I know he wanted to do this, and I know he can manifest things. He has no fear of trying things, and he has no fear of failure.’
[Donna] said she was preparing to watch the show for the first time that evening — and offered her son some advice.
‘You know, sometimes parents want to fix things for their kids,” she told Variety. ‘But sometimes it’s better to just let them fail. You learn the most from things you don’t do well. Hopefully, if this is something he wants to do, he’ll get better at it.’”
Spoken like a great mom. You can catch Travis in action on FX on Wednesday nights at 10pmET. Can also stream it via Hulu, Disney+, Sling and Fubo TV.
