Toy Story NFL Debut Was A Smashing Success

Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the rest of the gang were all there. Toy Story NFL debut was a smashing success. The Falcons and Jaguars were playing in London. At the same time Andy imagined the game being played in his room. All of his toys were there to watch. Some of them even had jobs to do. One of the aliens was operating the sky cam. Slinky Dog was the first down chains. And the Claw was used to spot the ball.
One of the nice things about the animation game was the teaching. For football novices there were plenty of explanations about the game. Such as what is a sack, what is a false start, and what is the play clock vs game clock. In addition, the commercial breaks were actually trivia questions. They covered all kinds of interesting and fun football facts. One was who converted the first two point conversion? Another was how long is the average time to make a sack?
Calling the game in Andy’s room were Drew Carter and Booger McFarland. Pepper Persley provided the sideline commentary. Initially there were some technical difficulties and the commentators gave us the play by play. But eventually we were able to see the plays live. Drew and Booger also provided some demonstrations. Booger would transition into a football uniform while Drew would attempt to tackle him or simulate a stiff-arm. Things didn’t go well for Drew lol. But I appreciated his tenacity.

The halftime show featured Duke Caboom in a daring motorcycle jump. There were also interview snippets with players and coaches sharing who their favorite characters are. The whole production was adorable and impressive. I don’t know if there are any plans to do another animated game. If there are I’ll definitely tune in.
As for the game itself the Jaguars dominated the first half. Ridder was sacked a couple times and threw back to back interceptions. The score was 0-17 at halftime. The Falcons got the ball first in the third quarter and scored a touchdown. It looked like they had some momentum going. But they got to the red zone again and stalled. They went for it on 4th and 2 but the pass was dropped. Bijan Robinson had some good runs but it wasn’t enough to get the team a win. On the Falcons last possession, Ridder was sacked and fumbled the ball. The Jags recovered and closed the game with a kneel down. Final score was 7-23.
