Tom Brady Raiders Minority Stake Approved by NFL Owners; Mark Davis Comments

Brady is now officially officially retired. On Tuesday voting went as previously expected and without a hitch. The Tom Brady Raiders minority stake was approved by NFL owners; and Las Vegas owner Mark Davis was thrilled and commented on the day’s developments in a presser.

But before we get to that. Senior NFL reporter Albert Breer for NBC Boston and NFL on Prime, confirmed the news and released some other pertinent details. Breer reveals,

“Source: Tom Brady has been approved as a minority owner of the Raiders. Per sources, new Raiders limited partner Tom Brady was approved in his purchase of 5% of the team by the NFL owners by a 32-0 vote.

Cool note on the Tom Brady vote … You need two motions on the floor to take a matter to a vote of the owners at these meetings. The Patriots were the first motion to support a vote on both Brady and Richard Seymour buying minority stakes in the Raiders.

Raiders owner Mark Davis said his relationship with Tom Brady started when Brady was a free agent in 2020: ‘I wanted him to be a Raider.’ Obviously, it’s grown since.”

Raiders owner Mark Davis commented on the NFL’s approval of Tom Brady’s minority ownership. Davis states,

“I’d like to thank the finance committee, who after a year and half came up with a unanimous recommendation to approve. And to my other 31 partners who unanimously approved it as well.

It’s an exciting day for the Raider organization. It’s an exciting day for all three of those gentlemen (Richard Seymour, Tom Brady and Tom Wagner. And you know we’re looking forward to what they can bring to the Raiders organization in the future.

[What role will Tom Brady play in the future]? Well, you know it’s kind of putting the cart before the horse. We wanted to get to this point first before we started defining anything of that nature and all of that. But it’s just exciting.

What I would say is, we traded Davante Adams for Tom Brady. And although Tom can’t play he can help us select a quarterback in the future. And potentially train him as well. So it’s a huge benefit.”

Brady, possibly choosing and training a Raiders QB? Now that is something we would like to see. It will be interesting to see what effect a 7 time champion may have on the silver and black.
