Timberwolves Ravaged the Dallas Mavericks Winning a 4th Quarter Thriller!
Most fans kicked off their Christmas Day NBA viewing with San Antonio Spurs versus the New York Knicks; which came down to the very last few seconds before New York secured the win. Now with the second game of the day, basketball lovers were ready to watch Anthony Edwards and company do damage against Dallas. And the Minnesota wolf pack did not disappoint. The Timberwolves ravaged the Dallas Mavericks winning a 4th quarter thriller.
By the third quarter it was beginning to look dire for the Mavs. The Wolves had taken a commanding lead. Separating themselves by 21 points. Then moments later, 24 points. And seconds later it rang up to a 26 and 28 point lead.
As one can see, the game was getting very lopsided. Timberwolves were running away with no problem. The Mavericks needed to act fast to stay in the game.
At halftime, Minnesota had already shown their strength and dominance. The scoreboard read 57-40 by the time both teams walked to the locker room. And at the end of the third it was 90-69.
So then, what action would the fourth quarter hold? Well, the Mavericks at least made things more interesting… heck they made it sports CINEMA! They cut the lead down to just 11 points with four minutes remaining in regulation. With 3:39 on the clock Kyrie Irving made it a 6 point game. Then with less than three minutes to go it became a 5 point game! The Timberwolves lead was slipping away and Dallas was quickly catching up.

The drama is upped with merely two minutes to go. Kyrie slices it down to a 3 point difference between the two teams. But then it is Klay Thompson to the Dallas rescue. Klay Thompson makes a 3-point jump shot from 28 feet out; and then steals the ball from Anthony Edwards. Will the Mavs capitalize?
Nah. Instead Anthony Edwards would remind the NBA realm who he is and what it is he does. Edwards gets a defensive rebound and makes a layup giving the Wolves a 4 point lead. And that would be all she wrote in this wild ending of a game. Kyrie was ALL OVER Edwards, but Anthony still managed to put up 26 points, with 5 assists and 8 rebounds. Timberwolves win it 105-99.
