Timberwolves Anthony Edwards Out After MRI and Warriors Steph Curry Wants Return
Big news regarding two of the NBA’s biggest stars and draws. One is going out and the other feels he could still come back after months of recovery. The Minnesota Timberwolves Anthony Edwards will be out and miss multiple games after being evaluated with a MRI and the Golden State Warriors Steph Curry can see a scenario where he at long last will get make his return from an injury sustained back in late January.
Regarding Edwards, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the timeline for Anthony should hopefully be short recovery stint, but he will still need an evaluation to be sure. Charania states, “Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards will be re-evaluated in 1 to 2 weeks due to right knee inflammation.”
The Minnesota organization also released a statement regarding Edwards injury announcing,
“The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the following injury update on guard Anthony Edwards:
An MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) conducted by Dr. Craig Bennett at Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine on Edwards revealed right knee inflammation. Edwards will be re-evaluated in 1-2 weeks and further updates of his progress will be provided when available.”
The Minnesota Timberwolves had been quick to announce on Monday evening that Anthony Edwards would be out and miss Tuesday night’s game against the Phoenix Suns. At the time, the Wolves PR Communications just listed Edwards as dealing with “Right Knee Soreness.” With his recovery expected to extend over the next couple of weeks then most likely this will mean that Anthony will also miss the highly anticipated Boston Celtics vs. Timberwolves game on Sunday night.

As for Curry, his team has a slight outside chance to still make the play-in. Only needing to surpass the Los Angeles Clippers, but they will need to contend with and beat such teams as the Celtics, Spurs, Rockets, Cavaliers, Nuggets and Pistons to make it happen. But if Curry is healthy, no one should ever underestimate number thirty.
However, to get back has been a long road. Stephen has been dealing with “runner’s knee” due to patella-femoral pain syndrome/bone bruising in his right knee, and hasn’t played since Jan. 30. Missing 18 straight games so far. Nevertheless, head coach Steve Kerr says, “He’s trending in the right direction. It’s been a tricky injury. But I think he’ll be back, for sure.”
When asked about fans saying he should sit out the rest of the season, the four time champion remarked,
“That’s not who we are. If we have stuff to play for, we play. So, I’m working to get back… I know we’re depleted, but the idea of my injury is just getting information by the day of, ‘Can I play safely? Be myself out there and not put myself in danger short term or long term?’ And then we still have stuff to play for. We’d love to see guys in a playoff series and take a swing. Hopefully see this team that’s currently constructed healthy for a stretch to learn as much as we can and compete. That’s who we are.”
When asked if he believes he will still play this season with so few games left. Curry responded, “That I’ll play? For sure.”
