Thursday Night Thriller Ended With A Dallas Victory

Big plays kept happening in Big D last night. But the Thursday night thriller finally ended with a Dallas victory. The Seattle Seahawks hung tough with the Cowboys and made plenty of plays of their own. But Dallas was not to be denied in their home stadium. The Cowboys jumped out to a 3-0 lead. However, for the first time this season the Cowboys trailed at home when the Seahawks took a 7-3 lead. Dallas went on to take the lead back. On a side note, both teams came in as the most penalized teams in the league. And there were plenty of them in this game. As a result each team was helped with field position and advancing down the field.

But things really got crazy at the end of the second quarter. Again thanks to some penalties the Seahawks went down the field and got a touchdown with :07 left. But it was over turned, the refs decided Smith-Njigba didn’t retain possession of the ball. But there was a defensive penalty that put the ball on the one yard line. Geno Smith immediately threw a touchdown to Noah Fant. However, head coach Mike McCarthy had called a timeout so the touchdown didn’t count. So the Seahawks lined up and Smith threw another touchdown pass to DK Metcalf. This time it counted and the Seahawks took a 21-20 lead into halftime.

The Seahawks then got the ball to start the third quarter and scored another touchdown. But the Cowboys were unphased and answered with their own touchdown. And their defense responded with an interception of Geno Smith. However, the Cowboys couldn’t capitalize on the turnover. Instead they went for 4th and 2 at Seattle’s 30 yard line and couldn’t convert. Seattle scored one more touchdown. Yet they couldn’t convert three straight fourth downs. While the Cowboys kept scoring. And eventually won 35-41.

When reporters asked Dak about how it feels to silence his critics with his MVP-like performances he stated, “No difference to when they were hating me and calling for my position, honestly. I’m blessed, I’m super blessed, and I think about that each and every day that I wake up, I’m grateful for that opportunity to do that, and I go and attack the day. Prescott played like an MVP last night and could well be on his way to earning that top honor in the league.

It looks like the Cowboys are the real deal and Dak has come into his own. We’ll see if they can finally make it back to the big game this year.
