Would you wait over 50 years to become a world champion? For some Texas baseball fans that’s the exact assignment they’ve endured. The passing time has probably been unbearable at stages; yet now the pain is over, and there can only be celebration as well as jubilation. They are now winners, they are now champions. The Texas Rangers win 2023 World Series defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks.
This feat is so unbelievable. Especially, when you ponder that this is a team that just two years ago; experiences over 100 losses. When there’s only 162 games in a regular season. Moreover, the following year they lose over 90 games.
That’s usually not the kind stats that scream at you that this is a franchise about to win the World Series. And not just win it, but come into the playoffs as a wild card and defeat everyone; including AL favorites, and fellow Texans, the Houston Astros.

“The Rangers lost 102 games in 2021, making them the 3rd team to win a World Series within 2 years of a 100-loss season (1969 Mets & 1914 Braves). The Rangers finished 68-94 (.420) last season. That’s the worst record in a season before winning the World Series in MLB history.
[Nevertheless] the Rangers defeat the Diamondbacks 5-0 in Game 5 to win their first World Series in team history. After 6 scoreless innings, Mitch Garver gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead in the top of the 7th inning of Game 5 of the World Series. The last time the go-ahead RBI came in the 7th inning or later of a scoreless game with a chance to clinch the World Series; was in 2010 Game 5 by the Giants, managed by…Bruce Bochy…against the Rangers (Edgar Rentería 3-run HR).”

Man… what a coincidence! Speaking of Bruce Bochy, he solidifies himself as one of the greatest managers of all time. He is already baseball royalty; but now easily hits legendary status. What’s some history that the amazing Bruce Bochy adds to the history books tonight?
Well, Bruce Bochy is now the 6th manager to win at least 4 World Series titles. Three with the San Francisco Giants; and now one with Texas. Only MLB managers Joe McCarthy (7), Casey Stengel (7), and Connie Mack (5) have more titles.
Furthermore, Bochy is also the first manager to win a World Series for and against the same franchise. Wild… but true. Bruce beat the Rangers in 2010 as manager and skipper of the Giants.
