Texans Tank Dell Suffered Dislocated Kneecap And Torn ACL; Will Require Surgery
If you watched it live, you already know this injury was gruesome. Some replays were broadcast but eventually were deemed too horrific for audience viewership. Nevertheless, after numerous examinations, official news is emerging about the Houston wide receiver. On Monday head coach DeMeco Ryans says that the Texans Tank Dell suffered a dislocated kneecap and torn ACL; and will require surgery.
Worst part… those aren’t the only issues. A plethora of tests revealed that besides the dislocation and ripped up ACL, Dell had unfortunately also sustained additional damage that will need treatment. Not good.
The Texans’ head coach addressed the press on Monday morning in order to provide details regarding the team as well as Tank’s recent injuries. In regards to these proceedings NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports,
“Texans WR Tank Dell suffered a dislocated knee, coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters. That includes tearing his ACL and other damage. He will have surgery and obviously is out this season. A long road ahead.”
Dell has had quite a rough year. Dealing with several injuries along the way. If you are keeping track, Tank Dell suffered a broken fibula in December last year and missed the remainder of the 2023 season. In this past off-season Tank was shot in April, just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. As an innocent bystander, Dell and nine others were randomly fired upon in Sanford, Florida. Fortunately, Tank’s wounds were minor.

Yet, now he once more must battle back to full recovery. This past weekend in a matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs; Dell tore his ACL & suffered a dislocated kneecap. Tank was injured on a 30-yard touchdown catch in Houston’s 27-19 loss Saturday. He was coming across the back of the end zone and made the spectacular catch on a pass from C.J. Stroud before colliding with Houston teammate Jared Wayne on the way to the ground.
So far there are no exact dates on when the franchise expects to have Tank Dell back in action. But his teammates believe he will battle back like it is ‘nothing.’ Texans OL Tytus Howard states, “He is a warrior and I know this process is going to be nothing to him because of the person he is.”
Yes, Dell has been through much and got back into the game and he will work to do it again. Therefore, we wish him a fast recovery. And look forward to seeing him back among his Houston sports family.
