Tennessee Titans Quarterback Will Levis To Undergo Season-Ending Surgery On Shoulder

Tennessee Titans Quarterback Will Levis To Undergo Season-Ending Surgery On Shoulder

It was an injury that led to an underwhelming performance last season. He tried to gut it out but he wasn’t able to perform as well as he would have liked. In fact, he went 2-10 as a starting quarterback in 2024. So after some consideration, Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis is to undergo season-ending surgery on his shoulder. According to the team’s website, the procedure is scheduled for Tuesday, July 29, and it will sideline Levis for the entirety of the 2025 season.

On Monday morning the Tennessee Titans released the following statement:

“After consulting with doctors and his representatives, Will Levis has decided to undergo shoulder surgery that will sideline him for the entire 2025 season. We support his decision to focus on his long-term health. He approached the offseason with professionalism and showed clear growth as a leader. We remain confident in his full recovery.”

Adding on to their statement was a post from Adam Schefter who wrote:

“Titans QB Will Levis will be undergoing season-ending surgery on the right shoulder injury he sustained early last year before further aggravating it later in the season. Levis has been unable to shake the discomfort and his shoulder still is bothering him. Levis is, in the words of a source, “dedicated to return to be able to compete at the highest level possible.”

“With Will Levis out for the year, No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward is now poised to become the Titans’ starting quarterback, despite the fact that the team has not named him its starter. The Titans other backup QBs are veterans Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle. Ward now shapes up as the Week 1 starter at Denver.”

Levis had hoped that rest and rehab would help his shoulder to recover. But unfortunately, he was still feeling pain and discomfort during minicamp. At that point he began seeking medical advice on dealing with the shoulder injury and thus elected to have the surgery. Speaking with reporters last month, Levis had said that he felt his accuracy and technique had improved, putting him in a great position to compete.

Levis was selected by the Titans in the second-round of the 2023 NFL Draft. In his two seasons, he has played in 21 games throwing for 3,899 yards, 21 touchdowns, 16 interceptions and a passer rating of 82.7. Now it appears that the Titans first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, quarterback Cam Ward, will be the starting quarterback. Although that hasn’t been officially announced yet. They also have veteran quarterbacks Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle on the roster. However, many believe we will not see Levis in a Titans uniform again.

So before it could begin, Levis’ season is over and we wish him a speedy recovery. In the meantime, we’ll keep an eye on Cam Ward to see how the 2025 season unfolds for him.
