Super Bowl Opening Night at Allegiant Stadium

Super Bowl Opening Night at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas

Everything is looking quite… SUPER, if we may say so ourselves. Super Bowl Opening Night at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas got underway; giving us the first look of the stadium’s major transformation for the biggest sports event in the entire world. The Raiders home looks amazing inside and out.

During opening night, attendees (primarily media/ and fans who purchased tickets); got to tour the Allegiant Stadium grounds. Checking out how the locker rooms will look for the 49ers and Chiefs. How those in luxury boxes will be wined and dined. Also, how the field and stadium will look to viewers at home. The Chiefs end zone is yellow gold and red; while San Francisco’s side of the field is in red and white; with a very slight hint of gold accents.

Speaking of the field, it looks FANTASTIC. Plus, it’s being very well-maintained. Joe Pompliano, who writes on sports business reports,

“The NFL has swapped out the field at Allegiant Stadium, shipping in a new field from California for the Super Bowl.

They’ve been testing the soil temperature and moisture for weeks while also using a robotic device to simulate cleat movement.

Pretty cool.”

We agree. That’s very cool. If the field isn’t right, no player can be at his best. So then, how does a humongous field job like this come together?

Well, NFL Football Operations caught up with some of the personnel responsible for helping to get the field ready for the big show. For instance, NFL Field Director, Nick Pappas and his team are hard at work preparing the new field being installed at Allegiant Stadium for Super Bowl LVIII. Football Operations reveals via NFL.com,

“Nick Pappas, field director for the NFL discusses the field preparation for Super Bowl LVIII. The ‘all-new natural grass surface installed on a retractable tray’ outside the stadium will be prepared and tested leading up to the game, which will be played on February 11, 2024 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

‘We have brought in a brand-new grass field. We are working through all of our standard testing procedures that take place from installation all the way up through the day before the game,’ said Peter O’Reilly, NFL Executive Vice President of Club Business, International, and League Events. ‘The natural grass surface is installed right now and we have a great team maintaining it as we head towards the Super Bowl.’”

Therefore, many hands are working together to make it all happen. Additionally, real grass and artificial turf has been a hot topic this season. Especially, with some players experiencing injuries. Therefore, it’s nice to see real fresh turf being available for Super Bowl Sunday. Therefore, should be a fun, safe, competitive game.
