Super Bowl LX Set To Be A Rematch Of Super Bowl LXIX With The Patriots And Seahawks
In two weeks time a new Super Bowl champion will be crowned. And we already know it won’t be either team from last year. Repeating is a difficult thing to do in the biggest football game of the year. However, this won’t be the first rodeo for either of this year’s contenders. Super Bowl LX is set to be a rematch of Super Bowl LXIX with the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks. But in name only because the head coaches and quarterbacks are new and of course there is no “legion of boom.”
So how did this rematch come about? Yesterday four teams played and only two remained victorious. First was the Patriots versus the Broncos in Denver. The weather started off nicely with no snow and clear visibility. However, neither team was able to do much and the half ended tied at 7-7. But midway through the third quarter the weather rapidly deteriorated. The snow started coming down hard, the wind was blowing and swirling and the field was quickly covered up. The Patriots would go on to score a field goal and that was enough to give them the 10-7 victory.
Game two was different. The Los Angeles Rams traveled to Seattle to face off against the Seahawks. The Seahawks drew first blood with a touchdown. But as usual the Rams pulled it together and began to match the Seahawks with fast strike scores of their own. But in the fourth quarter the scoring was stalled when the defenses on both teams stepped up. The Rams were trailing by four points when the Seahawks stopped them on a fourth down. Eventually the Rams ran out of time. So the 27-31 victory went to Seattle.

The odds have been set. The Seattle Seahawks opened as 3.5-point favorites over the New England Patriots. That’s not surprising considering the Patriots offense wasn’t great yesterday. The New England offense is going to have to play better if they want to compete with Jaxson Smith-Njigba and the Seahawks offense.
However, the Patriots have faced some of the top defenses including the Texans and Broncos in the playoffs. But also, Kenneth Walker III has filled in nicely for Zac Charbonnet who went down with a torn ACL. At any rate, it looks like the Super Bowl will be entertaining. It will take place on February 8, 2026, 6:30 pm ET (3:30 pm PT) at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. It will be aired on NBC and streamed on Peacock, Tubi and NFL+ so don’t miss it!
