Stephen Nedoroscik Wins Bronze in Olympic Pommel Horse Final-Clark Kent Would Not Be Denied!
Not all heroes wear capes. But this gymnast sure does! One of the most viral athletes of the 2024 Games is a medalist yet again for the second time in a week. Stephen Nedoroscik wins the Bronze in the Olympic Pommel Horse Final only adding to his growing legend!
The world fell head over glasses lens for Stephen after he helped the men’s gymnastics team bring home a medal for the first time in 16 long years. Team USA had not been on the podium in men’s gymnastics since 2008. Back then, the men’s squad also secured a bronze in the team competition held at the National Indoor Stadium in Beijing, China.
Flash forward to now, and men’s gymnastics has finally got “the monkey off their backs” and proven that the USA can hang and flip with the best of them. Moreover on Saturday, Stephen had an opportunity to give the people what they want. More medals.
Immediately the Pommel Horse Final gets off to highly competitive start. Gymnasts from Ireland (Rhys McClenaghan) and Kazakhstan (Nariman Kurbanov) put up some impressive scores. Thanks to near perfect performances.
Kurbanov’s form throughout his routine showed elite skill and every move connected seamlessly. The judges scored him 15.433. Yes, immediately into the 15’s! It is clear that if athletes want onto the podium they will need their A-game.
However, McClenaghan is just as magnificent. He performs one of the cleanest, most difficult and well executed pommel horse routines we have ever seen. He did several one hand maneuvers demonstrating his incredible gymnastics expertise and strength. The judges obviously agree and score him with a whopping 15.533.

Could “Clark Kent” do the impossible and medal? Well it’s a bird, it’s a plane… no it’s just the USA’s favorite nerdy pommel horse specialist coming to the rescue. He said hold my Rubik’s Cube and got on that horse putting on a show!
His routine had a few slight bobbles; but outside of that was a technical masterpiece and electrifying. Stephen’s full 360 rotation one arm spin is so fun to watch. And he does it with his body so high, hips up, and other arm in the air elevated. Showing pure strength, control and grit.
When he finishes you just know “the pommel horse guy” is on the podium. Judges hand him a score of 15.300 which is good enough for bronze! Kurbanov secures the silver and McClenaghan wins gold. Rhys McClenaghan is Ireland’s first gold in gymnastics.
Nevertheless, this win is the second Olympic medal for Nedoroscik. And it is even more remarkable when you consider that he does all of this with a vision issue. In a presser Nedoroscik explains, “I don’t even really see when I’m doing my gymnastics. It’s all in the hands. I can feel everything.”
Great… so this legend also possesses Spidey senses. It just gets better and better. And it really did! Stephen Nedoroscik went full Superman and wore the USA flag like a cape when taking victory photos with Kurbanov and McClenaghan. What a fun, talented guy. Congratulations to Stephen… we mean Clark Kent… and we hope to see him come back for LA.
