The project will be a stunning and electric centerpiece of a 48.6 acre site. And there are already rumors swirling that the venue could be the spot of a future NHL or NBA team.
This move makes tons of sense for any investors because San Diego is a bonafide sports town. Residents love their sports and heavily support. Case in point, the Clippers, Chargers and Padres. Stan is the owner of Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, which owns the: Nuggets, Rams, and Colorado Avalanche in addition to Arsenal F.C., Arsenal W.F.C, the MLS’ Colorado Rapids, the NLL’s Colorado Mammoth, and two esports teams.
Where this info gets really good, is the fact that Kroenke’s Denver Nuggets just won their FIRST ever NBA championship. San Diego is dying to get more titles for their city. Having a guy and investor that owns winning teams can only be good mojo for SD and its sports adoring fans.

- An arena with space for 16,000 seats
- Thousands of new housing units
- A brand new luxurious hotel
- Space for retail
- The ability to house an NBA or NHL team
Sounds exciting. Moreover, San Diego will not even have to wait that long to see all of this happen. Projections show that this space could open up as soon as 2025.
