Spectacular Offensive Explosion Between Bills And Rams
What do you get when you have Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford sharing a field? When you have Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp in beast mode? And Amari Cooper making magical catches? All of that adds up to a spectacular offensive explosion between the Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Rams. Coming into the game the Bills defense was only allowing no more than 18 points a game. But nobody told the Rams.
The Rams started the game with a touchdown drive that ate up almost seven minutes of the quarter. And the Bills responded with a 13-play, five minute touchdown drive and the race was on. The second quarter featured even more scoring, with the Rams getting down to the Bills 3-yard line. They had to settle for kicking a 22-yard field goal. Then Hunter Long blocked the Bill’s punt for the scoop and score 22-yard touchdown. The Bills didn’t like that because they took about two minutes and six plays to score another touchdown.
In response the Rams went on a 7:47 drive that ended with Nacua scoring on a 4-yard end around run to the end zone. The Bills would be forced to punt after throwing an incomplete pass on 3rd & 2. With :49 left on the clock the Rams ran four plays to head into halftime. They were up 14-24. But the third quarter started the same way as it ended for the Bills with them having to punt.
On the Rams second half-opening drive they had a 56-yard completion from Stafford to wide receiver Demarcus Robinson nullified. There were offsetting offensive and defensive pass interference penalties. But they went on to score a 7-yard touchdown run by Kyren Williams to extend their lead to 31-14 with 8:26 left in the third quarter.

The Bills came to life and scored their first touchdown of the half. Josh Allen hit Khalil Shakir for a beautiful 51 yard touchdown. And then Stafford found Cooper Kupp who made a ridiculous catch for the 17-yard touchdown. Los Angeles led 38-21 late in the third quarter before Buffalo put up 14 unanswered to trim its lead to 3. But Stafford and Nacua teamed up for an 18-yard touchdown reception. That gave them a 9-point cushion with 1:54 remaining in the fourth quarter.
However, after getting to midfield the Bills had to go for a 4th & 15. The Rams were called for a defensive pass interference penalty putting the Bills on the Rams 16 yard line. Eventually Allen ran the ball in for the 1-yard touchdown. The Bills onside kick was not successful and the Rams hung on for the 42-44 victory.
