Senior Bowl 2024 Is Underway And New Stars Are Emerging
Do you hate job interviews? Me too. But that is kind of what the Senior Bowl 2024 is about. It’s underway and new stars are emerging from the process. However, it can be a grueling procedure for the former college players. According to Senior Bowl.com this event is where, “Elite draft prospects from around the country are selected to showcase their talent. And connect with coaches and decision-makers from all 32 NFL teams.”
This intense process will conclude with the Senior Bowl being held. It will be at the University of South Alabama, Hancock Whitney Stadium on February 3, 2024. Seniorbowl.com states, “Our post-season college football all-star game showcases the best NFL draft prospects. Of those players who have completed their college eligibility.” So the football players are involved in probably the most important “interview” of their young lives. This is not your typical job interview where you answer some questions and then wait for a call back. No, each player has to put his best foot forward and let his talent shine.
Nfl.com selected five standouts on Day 1 of the Senior Bowl and Roman Wilson was number 1 on the list. He sat down in an interview with Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo. Wilson shared some of his experiences growing up and how his parents sacrificed for him. Listening to him talk, I became an instant fan. And, oh yeah, he’s also a pretty good wide receiver to boot. Other good news coming out of the event is the plethora of offensive tackles. Most NFL teams are in need of offensive tackles and there will be plenty to choose from. The NFL Insiders highlighted Tyler Guyton out of Oklahoma. At 6’7″, 328 pounds he showed an aptitude for shutting down spin moves and bull rushes.
Day 2 of the combine will also be covered by NFL, and NFL+ if you have the subscription. So there will be more opportunities to see which players rise to the occasion and which ones fall flat. I hope they all do well since this event could determine their future professional success.
