Seattle Seahawks Smashed The New England Patriots In Super Bowl LX Clash

Some wondered if the big game would be too much for him. Whereas others were hyper optimistic that he would pull out a huge win. But at the end of the day, the Seahawks proved to be too much for the Patriots. Therefore, the Seattle Seahawks smashed the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX clash on Sunday Feb. 8, 2026. The Seahawks defense swarmed and pressured Patriots quarterback Drake Maye all game long. Which made it difficult to near impossible for the Patriots offense to perform.

In fact, the Seahawks were aware they needed to shut down Maye as noted by senior ESPN NFL Reporter Jeremy Fowler who posted:

Uchenna Nwosu said the gameplan was to ‘get to (Drake) Maye, disrupt him.” “We knew he’s their whole team….We knew if we affected him, their whole gameplan would be nothing.”

Nwosu was right in his assessment since for the majority of the game the Patriots’ offense produced no points. Maye couldn’t make the passes or scramble out of the pocket effectively. He was sacked six times throughout the game. But it wasn’t just Maye that needed to make something happen. Rhamondre Stevenson needed to make some big plays with his legs but that didn’t happen. Another tidbit learned was that Maye acknowledged receiving a pain-killing injection for his right throwing shoulder before Super Bowl LX. He did also claim that he was good to go.

Of course, credit is due to both defenses as the Seahawks thoroughly flustered Maye, while the Patriots defense held the Seahawks to 12 points through the third quarter. Patriots’ cornerback Christian Gonzalez had two fantastic pass breakups during the game. But the Patriots’ defense couldn’t hold up forever without their offense putting up some points.

Finally in the fourth quarter both teams scored touchdowns, but the Seahawks outscored the Patriots coming away with the 29-13 victory. They played well and disciplined completely earning the second Lombardi trophy for the Seahawks. And quarterback Sam Darnold has finally been able to silence his critics after this dominant win. He is the first quarterback from the stellar 2018 quarterback draft class to win the Super Bowl before guys like Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson.

But on the positive side for the Patriots, it looks like Drake Maye is the guy going forward. He looked lost in the game, but he stayed and answered postgame questions for 15 minutes after a devastating loss. Hopefully he and the rest of the team will learn from this humbling experience and come back stronger next season.
