Seahawks and Patriots To Be Featured on Hard Knocks in 2026 and 2027
Can’t get enough football injected into your sports veins? No problem. There are more football docu-series heading your way to help get your fix. The Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots are set to be featured on Hard Knocks in 2026 and in 2027.
If it seems odd to see the Super Bowl champs being on HBO’s long-running show, it’s because it doesn’t happen that often. Actually, if you look at Hard Knocks history this hasn’t occurred in 25 years. Therefore, Seattle will be the first defending SB champ to be featured on Hard Knocks since its inaugural season in 2001.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed the news regarding the Patriots and Seahawks stating,
“The Seahawks will be featured on this summer’s Hard Knocks. The Patriots will be featured on the 2027 summer Hard Knocks. The two teams in this past season’s Super Bowl will take center stage again the next two summers.”

Over the years the National Football League has struggled to get organizations to commit to providing a behind-the-scenes look into the day to day operations of their franchises. In order to fix this situation and keep Hard Knocks going, the league decided to start filling the calendar early. Sports reporter, Ari Meirov added to Adam’s earlier story stating,
“The reason the NFL announced two Hard Knocks teams—the Seahawks for 2026 and the Patriots for 2027—is because the league often hears from teams, “We’ll do it next year,” as a way to decline and kick the can down the road.
So they actually held a team—the Patriots—to it and already locked them in for 2027, per Adam Schefter.
It’s the first time the NFL has ever announced a Hard Knocks team two years in advance.”
Both teams will have their Hard Knocks produced by NFL Films for HBO. It will be the first appearance for both franchises, which most recently met in Super Bowl LX — with the Seahawks posting a 29-13 victory in Santa Clara, California. The Seahawks are scheduled to open the 2026 regular season Sept. 9 at home. Their opponent is yet to be determined, and the Patriots are among the possibilities.
