HOLY SHEETS. They said they are still doing it for the Faithful this year; and the team is backing that goal up day after day. From Tatis Jr., to Jackson Merrill as well as Manny Machado and Gavin Sheets; this roster is impressing the masses and making a bold statement. And into the history books they go already… the San Diego Padres start the 2025 season 5-0 for the first time in their franchise history.
As one can see, the Padres are kicking things off being historically good. It showed with their season opening matchup against the Atlanta Braves. Not only was SD dominant, but they swept the Braves with relative ease.
San Diego’s 4-0 start was something that hadn’t been seen from the ball club in over four decades. Literally, 41 years in the making. Yes, the last time the brown and gold started a season winning the first four games was back in 1984.
But what hadn’t been seen was 5-0. Yet, here we are in 2025 seeing the Padres take down the Braves and now the Cleveland Guardians in the first game of their second series. This is exactly what fans wish to see after that scary postseason 24 score— you know, we won’t say it. Instead, we will just mention that seeing this roster fight back after a disappointing finish in the playoffs is exactly what the baseball doctor ordered. They are not allowing what happened previously affect them; they have moved on and looking like a force to be reckoned with this season.

Speaking of the fans, they are showing up and out. It started on Opening Day. With a new all-time attendance record. Some 45,568 fans came to see the Padres win game one.
And since that day, they have kept coming. The Padres organization has now enjoyed five straight sellouts. San Diego is a bonafide sports town and they fill Petco Park to the very max whether it is day, night or in the afternoon.
Great fans. Great stadium. And a team that is off to a very great start. Yes, there’s ton of season left, but “America’s Fun Team” is giving the people what they want. Entertaining and thrilling baseball. This is going to be an awesome season!
