Running Back Saquon Barkley Rushed His Way Onto Cover Of EA Sports Madden NFL 26
He had a 2024 season that was nothing short of spectacular. It was so great that he came very close to breaking the rushing record that’s held by Eric Dickerson. In 1984 Dickerson rushed for 2,105 yards in a single-season whereas he rushed for 2,005 yards. But he didn’t play in the last game of the season because the team didn’t want to risk him getting injured and missing the playoffs. Well if he was upset about that then this news should help soothe him. Running back Saquon Barkley has rushed his way onto the cover of EA Sports Madden NFL 26.
And of course the cover picture is absolute perfection. It’s based on the hurdle he did over Jacksonville Jaguars’ Jarrion Jones. After making two defenders miss tackling him he then proceeded to do a reverse hurdle right over Jones picking up 14 yards in the process. It’s one of those plays that makes your jaw drop and that you’re likely never to forget it. And according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, “Saquon Barkley is the first Eagle to grace a Madden cover since Donovan McNabb for Madden NFL 06. He also earned a spot as the first member of the coveted Madden NFL 26 99 Club.”
EA Sports provided more details regarding the covers that Barkley will grace. They said:
“Barkley appears on two unique covers with one memorializing his spectacular reverse hurdle from last season. New features coming to Madden NFL 26 will be revealed this Wednesday, June 4 and Madden NFL 26 will launch worldwide on August 14 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via EA app for Windows, Steam, and Epic Games Store.”

As for Barkley it’s a dream come true. He stated:
