Rundown of Early NFL Sunday Action
After being shutout today the New York Jets are officially eliminated from the playoffs. Here is a rundown of the early NFL Sunday action. The Carolina Panthers picked up their second win of the season against the Atlanta Falcons. It was a sloppy game but three field goals was enough for a Panthers 7-9 victory.
The Bears were at the Browns and the game started slow with the first quarter being all punts. However, it had a wild finish. Justin Fields threw a Hail Mary with five seconds on the clock. Darnell Mooney had the ball but it bounced out of his hands and was intercepted by the Browns. So the Browns had a great comeback from a 10 point deficit, winning 17-20.
Green Bay took advantage of a Tampa Bay fumble and scored a touchdown. After that Tampa Bay took control of the game. Green Bay couldn’t keep up and Tampa Bay won the game 34-20. As mentioned the Jets were shutout and humiliated by the Dolphins. Zach Wilson was injured and replaced by Trevor Siemian but nothing changed. Final score 0-30.
The Giants had a three-game winning streak going. But that came to an end in Saint Louis today. Tommy DeVito was sacked four times and the Giants running game was shut down. On the other hand Derek Carr threw three touchdown passes and led the Saints to a 6-24.
Houston went to Tennessee to take on the Titans. Titans QB Will Levis took a beating as they allowed seven sacks. But they scored two touchdowns. The Texans weren’t productive much but finally tied up the score in the fourth quarter. The game went into overtime and the Texans finally won with a field goal, 19-6.
Rundown of Early NFL Sunday Action
New England hosted Kansas City and started well. They even got a field goal off a Patrick Mahomes interception. However, the Chiefs used screens and quick passes to move the ball and score. Also, a Bailey Zappe interception led to another 7 points for the Chiefs who won the game 27-17
