Robert Kraft Statement on Bill Belichick Snub For Induction Into Pro Football Hall of Fame
It’s been about a full 24 hours that football fans have had to chatter about the Belichick situation and snub. Interestingly yesterday some wondered how Robert Kraft felt about the whole ordeal. Well, today he made his position clear. On Wednesday, Robert Kraft released a statement on the reported omission of Bill Belichick for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Kraft and Belichick ended their tenure working together on icy terms, but Kraft still calls him the “greatest coach of all time.”
For his part, Kraft hasn’t remained silent on Belichick’s snub, telling the Associated Press on Wednesday that Belichick “unequivocally” deserved to be elected in this class. His full statement reads as follows:
“Whatever perceptions may exist about any personal differences between Bill and me, I strongly believe Bill Belichick’s record and body of work speak for themselves. As head coach of the New England Patriots for more than two decades, he set the standard for on-field excellence, preparation, and sustained success in the free agency and salary cap era of the National Football League. He is the greatest coach of all time and he unequivocally deserves to be a unanimous first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer.”
Citing four unidentified sources, ESPN reported Tuesday that Belichick didn’t receive the necessary 40 votes from the 50-person panel of media members and other Hall of Famers. Revealing that Belichick received a call from the Hall of Fame last Friday with the news.
The Hall of Fame declined to comment before its class of 2026 is announced at NFL Honors in San Francisco on Feb. 5.

Nevertheless, it remains a head scratcher as to why Belichick is being snubbed. Bill is one of the greatest head coaches in the history of the NFL. You can’t talk legacy and football without mentioning the New England Patriots amazing run.
Crack open the historical documents and you’ll see that Bill Belichick set a head coaching record with six Super Bowl wins and added two more as an assistant, leads all coaches with 12 Super Bowl appearances, ranks second all time with 333 career wins and holds more playoff victories (31) than any coach in league history. Hopefully we will see this legend become a Hall of Famer in near future.
