She made it to the league and now she continues to make the big bucks. The WNBA star already had a deal in place but Reebok decided it wanted to lock her in for several years to come. Therefore, on Thursday it was confirmed that Reebok and Chicago Sky star Angel Reese have announced a multi-year extension including a signature shoe.

This is major. Professional women’s basketball players do not tend to get shoe deals. In fact, it’s a rarity. Angel Reese will become just the 6th active WNBA player to have her own signature shoe. Yes, after over two decades she will just be one of six players on the court rocking their own designs. Wild.

Nevertheless, if you are wondering who are the other six stars in the W, wonder no more. You probably can guess at least one. But nonetheless, Reese will be joining New York’s Breanna Stewart (Puma) and Sabrina Ionescu (Nike), Las Vegas’ A’ja Wilson (Nike) and Sydney Colson (Creative Control) and Indiana’s Caitlin Clark (Nike). Also, it is of note that Los Angeles’ Rickea Jackson also has a deal with Sketchers. While Rickea does not have her own shoe yet; she still made history being the first WNBA player in the brand’s history.

However, things are changing. This is a new era that women’s basketball is moving into that is leading to more lucrative opportunities. With increased interest in the sport, brands are flocking to get their name and products attached to the W’s most popular names.

Currently, WNBA players are fighting for better pay after opting out the CBA agreement. But the players themselves are working hard to build their empire and bank accounts outside of basketball. Reese is a player who is definitely at work in this regard.

Shortly after being drafted into the WNBA, Angel got into soccer team ownership. Created a hit podcast. And now has sponsorship deals with fashion entity Good American, Tampax, beauty/hair brand Mielle, Beats by Dr. Dre and Hershey’s Reese’s Pieces candy.

How did this Reebok extension come about? Jide Osifeso, who is Reebok’s head of basketball, states,

“Reebok and Angel are growing together every day and our visions for the future are aligned. We’re excited to continue the relationship with a ground-up build of her signature silhouette.”

We can’t wait to see what is created. But it’s going to be a bit. Reese’s shoe will not drop till 2026. This exciting news about signature kicks by Angel was revealed during a conversation with Reebok Basketball President, Shaquille O’Neal.

Nevertheless, before her signature shoe hits the market, Angel Reese will be sporting Reebok’s latest basketball sneaker, the Engine A. This new model will offer fans a glimpse of the performance technology Reebok brings to the court, and Reese will be showcasing it in her games.
