Ravens Cut Texans Down To Size In AFC Divisional Win
It looked to be an evenly matched game between two tough competitors. However, the Ravens cut the Texans down to size in a big AFC divisional win. To start the game the teams traded blows and points were hard to come by. Both quarterbacks were being rushed and pressured. In the first quarter each team scored a field goal.
In the second quarter each team scored a touchdown. Houston had an opportunity to take the lead but missed a 49 yard field goal. Which was too bad because the Ravens continued to harass C.J. Stroud making points hard to come by. So the half ended all tied up at 10-10.
But the Ravens offense and defense came out swinging in the second half. The defense continued to bring pressure on Stroud. Never allowing him to get comfortable in the pocket. And the Texans running game never got going. They had a total of 38 rushing yards for the game.
Conversely, the Ravens running game couldn’t be stopped. They finished with 229 total rushing yards for the night. 100 of those yards came from Lamar Jackson. He also rushed for two touchdowns and threw for two touchdowns. He was a one-man wrecking crew. Putting the team on his back in the second half he just made plays all over the field.
When his receivers were open he was throwing pinpoint passes to them. If they weren’t open he would take off running while making defenders miss left and right. It was truly a show to behold. And of course the Ravens defense continued to bully the Texans offense. They didn’t allow them to score at all in the second half. Thus leading to the 10-34 victory.

It was a magical season and a nice run for the Houston Texans. Especially with the emergence of their rookie star players like C.J. Stroud and Will Anderson. However, the divisional game proved to be too much for them and the rest of the team. And the Baltimore fans had M & T Stadium rocking. Crowd noise was definitely a factor the whole game.
I expect the Texans to build on this momentum next season. In the meantime, the Ravens are headed for the AFC Championship game. And whoever they face is going to have their hands full.
