Raiders Got Mauled By the Lions On Monday Night

It was a magical night for the city of Detroit. The Raiders got mauled by their precious Lions on Monday Night Football. In spite of making mistakes, the Lions had their way with the Raiders. They ran and passed the ball with ease. However, the opposite was true for the Raiders. Their offense struggled all night long. It was their defense that kept them in the game.

It was a scary night for the Raiders on the eve of Halloween. QB Jimmy Garoppolo missed on some key throws that could have moved the ball down field. At other times he had no protection from his O-line and took too many sacks. Especially since he was coming off a back injury. The Raiders are not playing complimentary football. It’s their defense doing the heavy lifting and even they aren’t playing as well as they could. They need to be better in pass coverage and sticking with their assignments. Too many times Lions receivers were open and getting big gains.

But despite that, they continued giving their offense a chance to take the lead. The Raiders are at the bottom of the league when it comes to getting turnovers. Last night the Lions fumbled and the Raiders recovered the ball. Garoppolo came on the field and immediately gave the ball right back, throwing an interception. The Lions weren’t able to capitalize on the turnover, going 3 and out on their possession. Those were the kind of mistakes that happened all game long. The difference is that the Lions were better at moving the ball down field and getting some points. Whereas the Raiders couldn’t make much happen on offense hence the final score was 14-26.

Maxx Crosby is a beast, he was all over the field doing work. On the whole the Raiders defense stiffened up in the red zone keeping the score lower than it could have been. But Josh McDaniels has to figure out a way to get his offense to produce. They have talented players but they are not working well together. For the Lions, their rooking running back Jahmyr Gibbs had himself a night. He rushed for 189 yards on 31 touches helping to lead the Lions to victory. The Lions passed for 264 yards and rushed for 222 yards and had 29 first downs. I believe we can say the Lions are legit.

Also, I laughed at the Lions Thriller dance celebration. It was perfection, and they definitely earned it.
