Dancing. Football. Sweets. The Pop Tarts mascot is a viral sensation and still garnering laughs and support even several hours after a winner has been crowned.
Some say it’s all in good fun. Others that it is one of the best marketing decisions in modern sports history. Regardless how individuals want to view the Pop Tart Bowl, the fact is, it will always be memorable.
The makers of Pop Tarts went all in this year to make their product stand out, yet enhance the entertainment quality and value of the college football Bowl. Their strawberry and sprinkled tart played around with refs, gleefully twirled with security and in an act of bravery got toasted for the team victor.
Several sports journalists and media outlets are praising the success of the Pop Tarts Bowl and it’s fun-loving mascot. For instance, media personality Clay Travis says,
“Kansas State really won the Poptart Bowl and then ate a gigantic pop tart on the field to celebrate. Whoever thought this up deserves to replace the entire Bud Light marketing department.”
Moreover, Chris Vannini of The Athletic recalls of the Bowl,
“Funniest part of the Pop-Tart Bowl mascot death was the sign toss. I laugh every time I see it.”
Therefore, it’s safe to say that everyone enjoyed the annual Pop Tarts Bowl and their strawberry flavor pop tart mascot. While the game and the edible Strawberry mascot getting devoured by the winning champions shall go down in college history; even the Pop Tarts presser is worth a mention.

During the press conference, a giant silvery packet (similar to what two pop tarts come in). The packet is sitting on a large table between two helmets representing Kansas State and NC State. The silver metallic wrapper is lifted revealing a shiny trophy for the game. The 3-tier trophy with a football on top, can actually hold two Pop Tarts within slots at the top of the football. Perfection.
Nonetheless, what about the actual game? Who won? Well, in a pretty well matched battle, Kansas State ends up coming away with the big “W.” Kansas wins it all 19-28.
