Plenty of Top Level NFL Free Agents Available
We have seen a lot of action taking place around the league this month. But the party isn’t over yet. There are still plenty of top level free agents available. And the smart teams will capitalize on the bounty to be had. Below are a few of the free agents still on the market that ought to be added to somebody’s roster. However, they are 30 and over so that could be one reason why they are available. But age ain’t nothing but a number so let’s get to it.
First up is Stephon Gilmore who was recently with the Dallas Cowboys. He’s played for multiple teams including the Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots. Everywhere he has played has been at a high level and you can never have too many cornerbacks. He’s 33 but can still run with the best of them.
Calais Campbell is a whopping 37 years old and it doesn’t matter because he continues to ball out. He was with the Atlanta Falcons in 2023 and played all 17 games. While there he posted 6.5 sacks, a safety, 32 solo tackles, and 24 assisted tackles. His production in 2023 was better than his production in 2022 with the Baltimore Ravens. So the big defensive end is not done yet.
Jadeveon Clowney is 31 years old and has been in the league for 10 years. Four of those seasons he posted at least 9 sacks and last season was one of them. Playing for the Baltimore Ravens, the talented outside linebacker racked up 9.5 sacks and 5 passes defended. Like Campbell his 2023 season was far more productive than his 2022 season with the Cleveland Browns. Maybe the Ravens ought to consider re-signing him themselves.
Plenty of Top Level NFL Free Agents Available
Last but not least is Donovan Smith lately of the Kansas City Chiefs. The offensive left tackle helped the Chiefs win the Super Bowl this year. So that ought to earn him a couple of brownie points. Prior to the Chiefs he spent 8 of his 9 year career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was the starting left tackle right from the start in his rookie year. Smith also played and started all four games in the Buccaneers’ playoff run that resulted in the team winning Super Bowl LV. Likely the 30 year old veteran can help protect a quarterback somewhere.
On a side note, 31 year-old Odell Beckham Jr. is reported to be visiting with the Miami Dolphins. The speedy wide receiver showed he can still play and stay healthy while with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023. We’ll keep you posted on that front.
