Pittsburgh Protected Their House, Beating the Bengals
The Steelers came out hot on the Saturday double header. Pittsburgh protected their house by beating the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals got the ball first to start the game. They had a couple of nice pass completions but had to punt. It then took the Steelers two plays to score. Najee Harris started the drive with a six yard run. Mason Rudolph threw a quick pass to George Pickens who took it 86 yards to the house.
On their second possession the Bengals moved the ball well and got to the 16 yard line. However, Jake Browning was chased out of the pocket and waited too long to throw the ball. He chucked it as he was going out of bounds and it was intercepted by Patrick Peterson in the end zone. The Steelers marched the 80 yards to score their second touchdown.
Disaster struck again when Browning threw his second interception of the first half. Four plays into the drive Patrick Peterson picked off the pass. The Steelers got the ball on the Cincinnati 14 yard line. Five plays later they had another touchdown.
Things continued to get worse for the Bengals. Once again they moved the bell well and got into the red zone. It was 2nd & 1 from the five yard line. They chose to throw the ball and it was incomplete. Then they ran the ball and it was inches short of the first down. They chose to throw the ball on 4th & 1, which was incomplete, and turned the ball over on downs.
The Steelers capitalized on the turnover with a field goal. At halftime the Steelers were up 0-24.

Cincinnati opened the third quarter with a fantastic score. Jake Browning threw a short pass to Tee Higgins who took it 80 yards for the touchdown. And they converted the two-point conversion. But the Steelers came right back with another George Pickens touchdown.
The Steelers defense (without their starting defensive backs) played zone coverage which worked well against the Bengals. Their receivers made some amazing, acrobatic catches throughout the game. And QB Mason Rudolph stayed calm and poised the whole game.
On the other hand, Cincinnati couldn’t run the ball. And Jake Browning’s three interceptions really put them behind the eight ball. But their defense couldn’t slow down the Steelers offense either. So Pittsburgh got the best of their division rival this time around.
