Philadelphia just took a noticeable hit to their bullpen. Not good, especially since the team is busy battling it out with the Mets to win the division; and they do not wish to fall farther behind. Nevertheless, on Sunday morning it was revealed that the Phillies reliever Jose Alvarado has been suspended for 80 games for testing positive for PEDs.

This is not the first suspension of this nature that has been handed down this year. However, Alvarado insists that he did not knowingly take something wrong. He had worked to slim down some during the off-season. And had been taking a fat loss drug. Jose feels it was this very  weight loss drug that has caused him to fail any substance test.
