Residents of San Diego, there will be a Petco Park Memorial for Peter Seidler. To honor what this great man did for sports and all lovers of Major League Baseball. The city of San Diego and Padres fans will never forget all the work their owner put into placing a winning product on the field; as well as aiming to win ‘America’s Finest City’ their first championship.
Anchor Carlo Cecchetto of CBS 8 and CW San Diego describes the feelings of one and all, the best. Regarding the huge loss of Mr. Peter Seidler, Carlo Cecchetto states,
“Peter Seidler was everything you could want in an owner of a team you were a fan of. Committed to winning it all, truly connected to the community, and, by all accounts, just a great person. Wish we had been able to enjoy him in this role for much, much longer. RIP.”
Furthermore, Bob Scanlon, a familiar voice as well as face to Padres fans; being a regular during San Diego baseball broadcasts also gave a brief statement. Scanlon kindly says,
“Absolutely heartbroken about the passing of Peter Seidler. One of most positive spirits I’ve ever encountered. Always concerned about helping others & making world better place for humanity. San Diego, Padres fans, MLB lost a great & beloved man. Prayers with the Seidler family.”

Seidler helped change the face of Padres baseball. Made improvements in just about every area of his baseball club. One of the few smaller market owners who cared about winning and the fan’s experience; than money.
His sole goal of winning a championship and hoisting the Commissioner’s trophy; is not a dream that went unnoticed. Everyone is a witness to his dedication, determination and all out battle to push his team to new heights as well as elite levels.
Nonetheless, due to this, the Padres organization knows there are many individuals who will want to pay their respects to “Papa Pete.” The ball club has already made arrangements for this to take place. Julian Del Gaudio, sports anchor for Fox 5 San Diego reports,
“A memorial has been put up for Peter Seidler outside of the Petco Park home plate gate.
Fans & those who wish to gather to pay their respects will be allowed through. Unbelievably heartbreaking to see.”
