He’s not even 30 yet, and he has a sports resume any athlete could ever want. And after his performance in SB 58 he gets the honor of tacking on yet another achievement. After the confetti drops… Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes is named 2024 Super Bowl MVP, bringing his grand total of Most Valuable Player nods to three.
Yep, not one. Not even just two. Mahomes now has earned three Super Bowl MVPs during his football career.
This is major because this is seriously putting Pat in the thick of things when it comes to looking at talents and grading them against some of the greats. To put this newly attained MVP into perspective real quick, chew on this little NFL nugget. There’s only one man who has more SB MVPs than Patrick Mahomes… Tom Brady.
Tom is in possession of 5, while Mahomes now is sitting and chilling at 3. Which means Patrick is now tied with the legendary Joe Montana. Read that back with us one more time; Patrick is now tied with the legend, the man, Joe Montana. Joe went to four Super Bowls and went home with the MVP title 3 times.
Furthermore, Mahomes is now AHEAD of a few other guys on the MVP list as well. Extraordinary talented football players such as, Bart Starr, Eli Manning and Terry Bradshaw. Starr, Manning and Bradshaw all have 2 MVPs.

With all of the above, it could be easy for any player to get the “big head” and think awfully a lot of himself. However, not Mahomes. He’s humbly acknowledging his own greatness while not disrespecting the current GOAT of the NFL.
After Super Bowl 58, Mahomes spoke with NFL Network about the growing comparisons between himself and Brady. Mahomes modestly states,
“To me it will always be tough because Brady beat me in the Super Bowl.”
Valid. Patrick’s Super Bowl record now is 3-1. His only loss, has come from Tom. Yet, he’s steadily gaining and chipping away at NFL numbers and stats. He’s constantly finding a way to win. Therefore, congratulations to Patrick Mahomes on getting another MVP and adding onto his own legendary story!
