“In conjunction with the Seidler family, we are proud to announce plans to honor Peter Seidler and his legacy throughout the 2024 season and beyond.”
Additionally, The Athletic’s Dennis Lin explains things a bit further. Lin reveals,
“The Padres wore an “RAK” patch on their jerseys for a few seasons after the death of Ray Kroc. They will wear a patch in 2024 to honor Peter Seidler. The team says the patch design and location will be unveiled before spring training.”

“The Padres say they will honor Peter Seidler with a uniform patch (design TBA), a public celebration of life at Petco Park during the weekend of March 22 (details TBA) and launching the Peter Seidler Legacy Fund to raise money for causes that align with what he believed in.”
Furthermore, the official blog for the San Diego Padres says that these events “will offer fans an opportunity to pay their respects to the late Padres chairman and owner.” Something that many San Diegans and Padre fans from all over definitely wish to accomplish. Specific project details will be announced at a later date. Ahead of Giving Tuesday tomorrow, fans are now able to donate to the Peter Seidler Legacy Fund here. All donations (up to $1 million) will be matched by the Padres Foundation; Padres players, Padres ownership, and the Seidler family. As a result, each dollar raised will yield $5 to support projects in underserved communities in San Diego and northern Baja.
