He’s just a teenager; yet he’s already making serious waves in the sports industry. In 2024 De Vries signs on with San Diego and immediately gets ranked among the Top 100 prospects currently in MLB farms. Crazy. However, now SD’s newest future star is tacking on one more cool accomplishment. Padres Prospect Leodalis De Vries Scores a Partnership With Adidas joining the sneaker and athletic wear brand for the foreseeable future.
Signing with a MLB franchise is exciting enough, but snagging an athleisure deal is just the icing on the cake. The 17 year old is very proud to be joining both the Padres and Adidas families. Regarding the Padres the 6’2 short stop spoke his truth in an interview.
De Vries appeared on MLB Network and said he feels fortunate to be a Padre. The interview was done in Spanish, and his responses were translated by MLB Network’s Yonder Alonso.
“He feels incredibly lucky,” Alonso said translating De Vries’ words. “He is fortunate to have the opportunity to wear a San Diego Padres uniform. He feels lucky. He feels like the minute he got there, it’s been so comfortable to be able to play baseball, enjoy baseball and succeed as a high rate.”

How awesome. What about being with Adidas? Well, the thrilled teen took his excitement to social media to announce the sneaker news. On his personal account on Instagram; De Vries heralds words about the partnership and includes photo evidence (he’s pictured in Padres gear, colors, and Adidas kicks). He states,
“Excited to announce my partnership with Adidas. Looking forward to working with this incredible brand and joining the Adidas Dugout family!”
Nice. Simple and sweet. By the way, if you’re not too familiar with Adidas’ dugout sector; it’s another element the brand has to help feature athletes associated with the brand; and their merchandise.
