Padres Opening Day 2023: The Friar Flood Has Begun!
Come one, come ALL! In the words of Drake, that is ‘the motto’ of brown and gold fans currently streaming to the best stadium in baseball, Petco Park. Today, is the Padres opening day 2023 season game and it is total pandemonium in these SD streets.
There are literally bodies and swarms of people everywhere. Everywhere you look there is a Manny, Tony or other Padres legend jersey in a bird’s eye view. It is a beautiful sight for anyone who is a die hard or longtime fan of the MLB organization.
Furthermore, all the excitement is even more astounding because the weather is not typical California sunny. We are talking rain, wind, lightning and thunder. And none of that is remotely slowing anyone down.
Moreover, downtown San Diego is buzzing even despite a last minute game day start change. Originally, the game was supposed to begin earlier in the day; however, now it is a straight up evening party, beginning at 6:50 pacific time.
The people have spoken. The people are coming. And there is no stopping this fandom from showing their undying support for America’s most exciting, ‘fun team.’

How packed are things? Well, we can report that the line to get into the park began forming early; and only getting longer and longer. You can hear the excitement in all the voices. Fans cannot wait to see and get a glimpse of their boys.
This season is set to be one for the ages as well as the history of the Padres. This season is coming in hot with a roster stacking Soto, Manny, Xander, Carpenter, Kim, J Crone and eventually Fernando Tatis Jr. back to back. Last year, Soto heralds, “I wish good luck to the other pitchers;” however, this year really seems like the season ball hurlers are going to sweat buckets.
The Padres are definitely stronger on the batting side and pitching has even been addressed. San Diego is set to have a very successful and riveting year. Yes, expectations are high, but all the weapons are in place to hit all objectives and targets. Get to the postseason and get that title. LET’S GO!!!
