On Tom Brady Day Randy Moss Got A Standing Ovation

By now you’ve likely heard that Tom Brady was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame yesterday. Check out our article if you missed it here. On that very special day, a.k.a Tom Brady Day, Randy Moss got a standing ovation from the crowd. Moss along with other former Patriots receivers, Wes Welker, Julian Edelman, and Rob Gronkowski shared their thoughts about Brady. But before we get to that it’s important to know that Tom Brady Day was official.

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey proclaimed June 12, 2024 Tom Brady Day. In her proclamation she noted that in Brady’s 20 seasons with the New England Patriots he won 6 Super Bowls, 17 division titles, and 649 career touchdown passes. She mentioned his strength, dedication, and determination as an athlete. Along with the countless memories he made while inspiring people across the country, these were some reasons why she made it Tom Brady Day. So it was officially Tom Brady Day and not just because of the induction ceremony that took place.

But getting back to Randy Moss, he was on stage with Brady and the other receivers when he started to speak. However, before he was able to complete a thought the Gillette Stadium crowd began to cheer. The standing ovation he received went on for over a minute. You could see the tears in his eyes as he received the love and adoration from the crowd. No doubt he was surprised by the display. Throughout his career he had had various controversies including during his time in New England. But whatever transpired then was long since forgotten by fans as they cheered him on.

Moss along with many other former Brady teammates had nothing but praise for him. Besides his competitiveness, they all agreed that he is an even better person than he is a football player. Moss recalled that when he went to the Patriots, the only thing he wanted was his locker to be next to Brady’s. And he got his wish. It was a good thing that he did because the two of them together broke records in 2007.

With all the hoopla that has happened it looks like Brady is actually going to stay retired. However, I’m looking forward to seeing how he handles being a sportscaster. Although based on his track record it seems likely that he will be wildly successful at that too.
