Nine Teams Are Getting Nike City Connect Uniforms in 2024
You get an uniform… you get a uniform. Everyone gets a new connect uniform! Well, actually, a few teams do this year. Major League Baseball hit the masses with a big announcement on Tuesday. There are currently nine teams that are getting Nike City Connect uniforms in 2024. Additionally, the nine teams will reveal their Nike Connect designs sometime between Opening Day and All Star Week.
MLB took to social media to herald this message far and wide. Very briefly they state,
“Nine teams are getting City Connect uniforms this year.
Which teams are you looking forward to most?”
Well, to look forward to these future UNI unveilings; you have to know what franchises are involved this season. Therefore, who are are these nine teams? In no particular order they are:
- Cleveland Guardians
- Detriot Tigers
- Los Angeles Dodgers
- Minnesota Twins
- New York Mets
- Philadelphia Phillies
- St. Louis Cardinals
- Tampa Bay Rays
- Toronto Blue Jays
Awesome. It’s now been a few years since the Nike Connects have been on the scene. As MLB.com writer Brent Maguire recalls,
“Introduced in the 2021 season, the Nike MLB City Connect Series celebrates each city’s deep-rooted history, culture and spirit that continues to bring the clubs and their communities together.”
Rock on. Yes, these uniforms feature different color schemes, typefaces, and graphic elements compared with the teams’ typical home and away uniforms. Allows teams to stylishly switch things up; while also providing more interesting merch options for the fans. A win-win situation.

However, while this is exciting news to some of baseball’s followers. Truth be told, some fans are just not fans of the City Connects. They feel that it is a little much.
They say, keep it simple. Every team should have two uniforms. One for all home games. And one when the team is out traveling on the road to their opponents; and that’s it.
Yes, fans all have their own ideas as to what is proper uniform etiquette. However, with baseball finally being back in the picture thanks to spring training; whether we personally like the connects or not; something we all can agree on is that life is good because opening day is just around the corner. Here’s to a great 2024 season to all the clubs.
