Nike Caitlin Clark Kobe Bryant Sneakers Sold Out in Minutes

The Fans have been wanting a shoe. Nike answered the call. And now we have another successful release for the WNBA’s biggest star. On Monday, the Nike Caitlin Clark Kobe Bryant Sneakers sold out in mere minutes.

Did you get a pair? Well, if you wanted one you probably had a tough time. Since according to Forbes and Sneaker Sense, the SNKRS app only had 13K pairs to be grabbed. Thus, leaving sneakerheads to battle it out with other fans who also wanted to get their hands on the Fever-inspired design. The Kobe V Protro retails for $190 and incorporates slightly more splashy versions of blue, red and gold, colors of Clark’s  team, the Indiana Fever.

Nike’s description of the shoe in collaboration with Caitlin Clark reads as follows:

“When Caitlin Clark laces up her Kobe 5s, she enters a new dimension.

She’s put her prowess on display wearing an array of coveted Kobe models — now she has her own player edition. It’s outfitted in Midnight Navy, Bright Crimson, vibrant hits of University Gold, and polished off with a high-gloss finish that glistens under the spotlight.

This Protro model takes a great basketball shoe and makes it better. It’s engineered with a flexible Air Zoom unit and scaled-down traction for optimal court feel. Plus, the minimally structured upper is lightweight and supportive all-around.”

Originally released in 2009 by Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, the Kobe 5 is known for its relaxed Air Zoom unit and EKG-inspired traction pattern on the rubber outsole for on-court grip. Its’ structured upper, which is a bit more minimalistic, provides a lightweight yet sturdy and supportive fit. With Clark first debuting the sneakers last season to start building hype. Looks like that plan worked.

Clark’s Kobe shoes were made available online at 10 a.m. EDT, and Nike’s initial offering of the shoes was gone in minutes. So far, there’s been no word from the Nike camp on when the next offering will become available. But we’re sure more details shall emerge soon.

However, this is a very good sign for Nike. A’ja Wilson just had a sellout. Now a Caitlin shoe is also having much success. And this isn’t even the Clark signature shoe that her fans are really waiting on to drop! So then, the iconic shoe brand is most likely looking at another gold mine.

Clark signed a reported eight-year, $28 million endorsement deal with Nike in April 2024. Just a week after the Fever selected her No. 1 overall in the WNBA draft. And already it is looking like a very smart business decision for “Big Swoosh” brand.
