NFL Wide Receiver Rondale Moore Found Dead On Saturday Night At Age 25

Death is always a painful experience to deal with and especially when the victim is young and talented. And sadly, another young athlete has lost his life. NFL wide receiver Rondale Moore was found dead in a garage on Saturday night at age 25.  He was found in the garage in New Albany, IN where he grew up. According to police, Moore died of a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound. However, his death is still under investigation. It would seem that Moore was experiencing a mental health crisis as indicated with his text messages with wide receiver Hollywood Brown.

Brown and Moore were former Arizona Cardinals teammates who had remained in touch. Just hours before Moore’s death he had responded to one of Brown’s Instagram stories. That prompted Brown to post on x.com, “Bro ain’t no way brotha you just messaged me few hours ago😢,” Brown, 2. You wasn’t alone bro.. I told you I know how you feel.” This was just hours after Moore’s death was discovered. Sadly, Moore had endured back-to-back season-ending injuries in 2024 and 2025. He suffered his second ACL tear in August. Touching on the difficulties of dealing with severe injuries Jamal Adams posted:

“I’m not jumping to conclusions but let me say this. Fans and media be quick to label a player “injury prone” We don’t choose to get hurt… sometimes s*** just happens. Y’all don’t see the rehab, the pain, the mental drain it causes. That process can make you lose yourself. This s*** is real. No matter how much support you get, you still gotta fight that battle alone.”

The Arizona Cardinals released a statement regarding the passing of Moore:

“We are devastated and heartbroken by today’s news concerning Rondale Moore. “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family, friends, teammates, and everyone who loved him and had the privilege of knowing such a special person.”

Moore was most recently with the Minnesota Vikings and made a good impression on them during his short time with them. They released the following statement about Moore:

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Rondale Moore. While we are working to understand the facts, we have spoken with Rondale’s family to offer our condolences and the full support of the Minnesota Vikings. We have also been in communication with our players, coaches, and staff, and will make counseling and emotional support resources available to anyone in need. Our thoughts are with Rondale’s family and friends during this devastating time.”

We are deeply saddened by the loss of another athlete and offer our sincere condolences to Rondale’s family and friends. It is our dearest wish that people who need some encouragement or assistance get the help that they need.
