NFL Revealed The 411 On 2024 Kickoff Game
The NFL Schedule Release is coming later than usual this year. No one seems to know the reason for the tardy release. However, today the NFL revealed the 411 on the 2024 Kickoff Game. It’s going to be a rematch of the 2023 AFC Championship. The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC. Well at least this game will be on network television so hopefully no one will need to stream the game. But things are always subject to change.
The championship game between these two powerhouses was on the low scoring side with the Chiefs winning 17-10 in Baltimore. Tony Romo, who did commentary on the game, reminded us at the beginning of the game, “You’ve got the number 1 and 2 scoring defenses and leading in sacks.” However, Patrick Mahomes had 11 straight completions before finally having an incomplete pass almost a minute into the second quarter. Whereas Lamar Jackson had a deep pass completion for a touchdown in the first quarter. Nevertheless, the Ravens defense had trouble containing the Chiefs offense. Hence they were able to come away with the victory.
In this offseason both teams have made changes to their rosters. The Chiefs drafted the speedster, WR Xavier Worthy who had the fastest 40 yard dash time at the Combine. And considering the legal troubles that WR Rashee Rice is dealing with right now, Worthy may have to take his place. Rice may also be facing suspension by the NFL due potential violations of the personal conduct policy. On the other hand, the Ravens have ramped up their defense and added RB Derrick Henry. Therefore, I expect it to be a very good, explosive game.

Having lost the Championship game last year, the Ravens have to be looking for some payback. At the same time, the Chiefs lost their kickoff game to the Detroit Lions last year. So they will want to avoid a repeat of that. AT any rate both teams should be highly motivated.
The NFL also announced that the Dallas Cowboys will be hosted by the Cleveland Browns on Sunday Sep. 8 at 4:25pm EST on FOX. Tom Brady will make his FOX regular-season broadcasting debut with this matchup. As a reminder, the Eagles will open their 2024 regular season in São Paulo, Brazil against the Green Bay Packers on on Friday, September 6.
The full schedule release is slated for Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on NFL Network.
