NFL Head Coaches Are Filled Since Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders Have Made Decisions

Well, it’s finally over as all ten open head coach positions were filled over the weekend. The remaining two teams now have their new head coaches on lock; thus ending the BIG 2026 search. After interviewing multiple candidates, some of whom went on to other positions, we finally have confirmation of the final choices. Therefore, all NFL head coaches are filled since the Arizona Cardinals, and the Las Vegas Raiders have made decisions. For the Raiders, Klint Kubiak will be their head coach as soon as he finishes orchestrating the Seahawks offense in Super Bowl LX. The Cardinals have selected Mike LaFleur as their coach. He is the brother of Matt LaFleur, head coach of the Green Bay Packers.

The Raiders decided to replace Pete Carroll after one year. However, when he took the job, they were hoping he could restore the team to glory. But that didn’t happen and now Klint Kubiak will have some good options to work with next season. What options?

For starters he’ll have $90million in cap space to work with. He’ll also have the No. 1 pick in the draft. Which he could use to take quarterback and Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza.

Moreover, the team already has explosive offensive weapons Ashton Jeanty and Brock Bowers. And the Raiders have the expertise of former quarterback superstar Tom Brady as a co-owner.

Cardinals Get Their Guy-New Head Coach Beginning 2026-207 Season

Now what about the Cardinals? What move went down to fill their HC position? Well, Arizona worked to finalize a five-year deal with Mike LaFleur to be their head coach.

This will be the second brother head coach duo with John and Jim Harbaugh also being NFL head coaches. LaFleur will be leaving his position as offensive coordinator with the Los Angeles Rams. In an interesting turn of events, Arizona’s former head coach Jonathan Gannon will become the defensive coordinator for Matt LaFleur. And Mike, Matt’s brother is now set to be the head coach of the Cardinals.

But now there are no more open HC positions. All teams now have a guy at helming their franchises. These ten new head coaches are expected to catapult their teams to the next level. Some will have it easier than others, but the jobs will be difficult regardless.

While the 2025 season didn’t produce any teams that were especially dominant; or that felt as if they were unstoppable. Next season will showcase exciting matchups, rematches and be fun to watch. This is true even though the league may need to address a few things to keep football enthusiasts happy and entertained.

For instance, officiating is never up to the level that fans want. Goal line cameras will need to be used more efficiently; catches will need to be less controversial. And should gambling be curbed? It feels like that may have an effect on the outcome of games and fantasy.

Whether that’s the case or not, clearly more than choosing the right head coach is necessary to make a great NFL season. After Super Bowl Sunday there will be a lot of things to figure out. For now let’s enjoy the global sports holiday that is Pats vs the Seahawks.
