The number one selection overall was one of the worst kept secrets of this year’s draft. But let’s just be real and honest, it usually is. The Tennessee Titans had the number one overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. They secured this position after a loss to the Houston Texans and a win by the New England Patriots over the Buffalo Bills.
Thus, Tennessee was in a position to take one of the top quarterbacks — perhaps Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders or Miami’s Cameron Ward. In the end the franchise decided to scoop up Ward and could not be happier. Ward told the media his goal is to win a Super Bowl; that statement out of a rookie would be music to any organization’s ears. Winning is everything in football, and Ward seems determined to help get Tennessee on track.

Nevertheless, what about the other picks. Well, the top ten selections showed that several teams favored pumping up their offensive weapons. Grabbing offensive tackles, wide receivers, a quarterback and a powerhouse running back. While they say defenses win championships and yes, several great picks were snatched up this year in the top ten of round one; truth is, teams still need to score points. And with these new shining offensive pieces, a lot of teams just got stronger.
