NFL Continues To Expand Their Global Markets Program

NFL Continues To Expand Their Global Markets Program

The National Football League has not been shy about trying to grow their brand internationally. Just about every NFL club has become a part of their outreach initiatives. Now with the addition of four new clubs and two new markets the NFL continues to expand their Global Markets Program (GPM). The new clubs and markets are set to participate in the 2025 season. Launched in 2022, the Global Markets Program awards NFL clubs international marketing rights to build brand awareness and fandom beyond the U.S., through fan engagement, events, commercial opportunities and NFL Flag development.

Below are the four new clubs and two new markets that have joined the program:

FOUR NEW CLUBS:

  • Baltimore Ravens: Granted rights in the United Kingdom.
  • Green Bay Packers: Granted rights across Germany, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
  • Los Angeles Chargers: Granted rights in Greece.
  • Washington Commanders: Granted rights in the United Arab Emirates.

TWO NEW MARKETS:

  • Greece: Los Angeles Chargers.
  • United Arab Emirates: Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Washington Commanders.

NFL Executive Vice President, Club Business, Major Events & International Peter O’Reilly is happy to see the expansion. He states:

“The expansion of the Global Markets Program in 2025 reflects the NFL’s continued focus to grow the game and connect with fans on a global scale. With more clubs entering the program and existing clubs adding to their global rights, and as the program expands to new markets, we are seeing strong momentum and impact in growing fandom worldwide together.”

The Eagles and Detroit Lions are the newest teams to be granted access to Brazil, joining the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots.

NFL Continues To Expand Their Global Markets Program

The Eagles have been busy in building their international footprint. Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie said:

“We are thrilled to welcome Brazil to our growing family of international territories. Having been granted these rights through the National Football League’s Global Markets Program, we will now have the opportunity to broaden the reach of our brand in a country where an authentic connection already exists. We were privileged to play in the first-ever NFL game in South America last season and through the Eagles Autism Foundation, we helped fund Brazilian-based autism research and care with a $400,000 pilot grant. We now look forward to establishing an even deeper connection in Brazil for years to come.”

In 2025 there will be two regular season games in London at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. One game in Berlin, Germany, one game in Madrid, Spain, a first-ever regular season game in Dublin, Ireland. There will also be a return to São Paulo, Brazil and Corinthians Arena during Week 1. And of course, the Jacksonville Jaguars will return to Wembley Stadium in London. In addition, the first international game for the 2026 regular season will be hosted in Melbourne, Australia featuring the Los Angeles Rams.

So it’s full speed ahead for the NFL and it’s international branding.
