New York Jets Made Another Blockbuster Trade With Dallas Cowboys For Quinnen Williams
Saying they have been busy before the trade deadline happens is an understatement. On the same day the drastically altered the look of their defense, trading away two key pieces. Earlier it was reported that Sauce Gardner was traded to the Indianapolis Colts. Now multiple sources are reporting that the New York Jets have made another blockbuster trade with the Dallas Cowboys for defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.
We detailed earlier how much of a shutdown cornerback Sauce Gardner is. Well Williams is a run-stuffing machine of massive proportions. Standing at 6’3″ and weighing over 300 pounds, nobody is getting past him. Williams was taken with the No. 3-overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. During his career he has produced 40 sacks, 101 QB hits and 59 tackles for loss. And earning three trips to the Pro Bowl. This season he has tallied 32 tackles, seven tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, three QB hits and a sack through eight games in 2025.
The Dallas Cowboys are desperately in need of his services. He will add to the defensive line consisting of Kenny Clark and Osa Odighizuwa. The poor defensive play has negated any success achieved by the offense. Dallas has allowed 397.4 yards and 30.8 points per game, ranking 31st in the league through Week 9. It’s negated the Cowboys’ offensive success this season that has produced 378.4 YPG and 29.2 PPG, which rank third and fourth in the NFL, respectively.
To further bolster their defense the Cowboys Earlier on Tuesday, Dallas sent a 2026 seventh-round pick to the Bengals for LB Logan Wilson. No doubt Williams will be able to help improve the run defense and take some of the pressure off the offense.

In exchange for trading away top defensive players the Jets have gotten quite the haul in draft picks. By trading Williams and Gardner their first-round picks total five over the next two years, plus the extra 2026 second-rounder from Dallas. Specifically for Williams they received a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick and DT Mazi Smith.
It’s great to have so many first round picks which could be very high in the draft if the Cowboys don’t get things turned around. But will the Jets be able to make wise choices with all the draft picks? That’s something we won’t know for quite some time. But stay tuned to see what else pops off.
