New York Giants Look To Hire John Harbaugh To Be Their New Head Coach
It seems like we were just writing about him being fired by the Baltimore Ravens. Their owner, Steve Bisciotti firmly believed that it was time to move on from him. However, a different team did not share that sentiment and they made that clear when they made their move. The New York Giants look to hire John Harbaugh to be their new head coach. So Harbaugh was barely out of work for a week before catching on with a new organization.
Harbaugh is a Super Bowl winner with a 13-11 playoff record. In 18 years had 13 winning seasons, 12 playoff appearances, and 6 division titles in a competitive division. You would think that he would have retained his position in the Ravens organization with those stats. Yet that wasn’t the case with Bisciotti who listened to his instincts telling him it was time. He referenced the repeated fourth quarter collapses and under-performing in the playoffs. Therefore, he wanted a change to help them get back to the Super Bowl with quarterback Lamar Jackson.
That’s interesting because Harbaugh is going to inherit quarterback Jaxson Dart who is believed to be the Giants next franchise quarterback. He has even been nominated for the Pepsi Rookie of the Year. The team also has running back Cam Skattebo who runs with wild abandon but his rookie season was cut short when he suffered a horrific ankle injury. And of course they have wide receiver Malik Nabers who regularly drew double team coverage. However he went down Week 4 with an ACL injury.
Having said all that will Harbaugh have more success with these younger talented guys than he did with his previous veteran players?

We will only get those answers as time goes on. However, Jackson is a dynamic, play-making quarterback who can sling the ball downfield or use his legs if he has too. Dart is becoming known for those same play-making abilities too. However, he will need to reign himself in and not take so many hits if he can avoid them. It will be up to Harbaugh to get the youngster to change his ways.
In the meantime, Harbaugh and the Giants are still working through the details of their contract as reported by NFL ESPN Insider Adam Schefter. The deal is not done yet per sources. The final issues aren’t over money; it’s over language. “There’s no derailment and nothing has changed,” one source said. Talks continue, and the two sides are working to get it across the finish line.
