Now what does this deal mean for some of the other sportswear brands already associated with the WNBA? Will this push entities like Nike, Puma, etc. to the side or out? Causing New Balance to take over various duties or responsibilities towards the league?
In short, the answer is no. All the previous brands will continue to still have a thriving partnership with the league and have a role to play. This is because the WNBA does not currently have an exclusive footwear partner. Therefore, New Balance will join Puma, Nike, Adidas and Under Armour as a league partner. With only league sponsors permitted to display their logos on court.
