Netflix Receiver Docu-Series: From NFL Films, Omaha and 2PM Productions

NFL Films, Omaha Productions and 2PM productions is back at it again. This powerhouse team dropped “Quarterback” last year, chronicling the intensity of what it takes to be a quarterback in professional football; following Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes, the Vikings’ Kirk Cousins and Atlanta Falcons’ Mariota. Now however, they want to show the perspective from the individuals who catch the ball from the other side, with their new project, the Netflix Receiver Docu-Series; an electrifying eight episode experience.

Now by the way, in case you didn’t know; 2PM Productions is Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ production studio. While Omaha Productions is the production studio of former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning. Two multiple championship level players in their respective field. Therefore, if you want someone extremely qualified to accurately tell football stories; these two definitely fit the bill.

Nevertheless, in relation to Netflix’s Receiver Adam Schefter of ESPN started early today with the news drops. 7AM to be exact. Schefter helped to confirm that this new football project is truly on the way. Adam also mentioned what guys would be taking part in the documentary series style show. Schefter reveals,

“Netflix announced its newest sports series that follows these pass catchers during the 2023-24 NFL season: Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel and Amon-Ra St. Brown. “Receiver” is to be produced by NFL Films, Omaha Productions and 2PM Productions, the team behind last year’s “Quarterback” series.”

NFL Films supervising producer Joe Zucco also came forward with a statement and one extra casting tidbit. Zucco believes viewers will not want to “pass” over this series. He states,

“We were thrilled last summer to see audiences all over the world diving into the lives of NFL quarterbacks. We believe the extraordinary skills, dedication, and passion of the NFL’s great wide receivers — and one tight end — will make a perfect follow-up.”

Furthermore, Peyton Manning, who is also serving as an executive producer for this multi-episode docu-show; provided a quick statement about the upcoming series. He briefly explains what everyone involved in the Receiver project is looking forward to and what audiences can expect to see. Peyton explains,

“As we did with Quarterback, we look forward to telling the stories of five incredible receivers, each with their unique personality, skill set, and motivation for what drives them to be the best.”

Chills, Peyton, chills. So then, if you have ever wondered what is truly like being a receiver, running at top speed down the field. In big games, in big moments and even once the pads come off. This is a series that you won’t want to fumble. Receiver will premiere on Netflix in Summer 2024.
