Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2026 Finalists Unveiled
It’s that time of year again, when the greats and legends of the game are selected to have their legacies cemented in stone for all time. The National Basketball Association announced that the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2026 Finalists have been unveiled. The finalists of this upcoming class features Amar’e Stoudemire, Doc Rivers, Candace Parker, Elena Delle Donne and the 1996 U.S. Olympic Women’s team.
Located in Springfield, Massachusetts, the city where basketball was born, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame celebrates the game of basketball at every level. This year’s Naismith Hall of Fame inductees will showcase a plethora of talented individuals that have had an indelible impact on basketball. It is a group containing extraordinary players, coaches, and contributors whose achievements have shaped the history and future of basketball.
Jerry Colangelo, Chairman of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame stated,
“This year’s group of Finalists represents the full scope of basketball’s impact, from the professional and collegiate ranks to high school, international play, officiating, and innovation. Their achievements span championships, historic milestones, and a lasting influence on how the game is played, taught, and experienced around the world. Each Finalist has made a notable contribution to basketball’s growth and excellence, and their collective legacy speaks to the power of the sport.”
The NBA’s official release mentioned:
“The Finalists will be put forward to the Honors Committee to be considered for election as members of the Class of 2026. The new class will be announced on Saturday, April 4, in a live broadcast on ESPN2 at 12:00 PM (noon) EST during Final Four Weekend.”
Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2026 Finalists Unveiled
Enshrinement Weekend will begin at the Mohegan Sun on Friday, August 14. Festivities will begin with the Tip-Off Celebration and Awards Gala. Then, closely followed by the Enshrinement Ceremony the next day at Springfield’s historic Symphony Hall. Below is the official list of finalists:
